At BCG Medical, we make and sell proprietary surgical positioning drapes designed with built-in warming features to help secure patients in robotic-assisted surgery.
As the patient is usually put in the head-down position, also called the Trendelenburg position, in these types of surgeries, they are at high risk of sliding off the surgical table. Our products, the Opt-Shield Air Supine and the Opt-Shield Air Trendelenburg, are created with added safety and warming features that keep patients secured and warm during cold surgical procedures.
We understand that patient warming is an important goal during surgery but can be challenging to achieve. When surgical patients are exposed to low temperatures during operations, they are at a higher risk for increased infection, more bleeding, and a longer time to wake up and recover. BCG Medical products help address these problems, keeping the patients safe and warm the entire time.

Meet Our Team
Lisa Giap
CEO and Founder of BCG Medical, Lisa has a degree in Management Information Systems with more than 10 years of experience in R&D, FDA Regulatory, Sales, and Manufacturing and Inventory Management. She had taken BCG Medical Products from the conception stage through R & D, manufacturing, FDA Regulatory Requirements, Sales and Marketing.
She is responsible for the day-to-day operation of BCG Medical.
Brandon C. Giap, MD
Co-Founder and Clinical Advisor of BCG Medical, Dr. Giap has worked as an anesthesiologist for almost 30 years. He is constantly seeking ways to make patient handling safer in the Operating Room and improve the efficiency of the OR staff.
A graduate of the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, Texas, Dr. Giap completed his anesthesia residency training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and his fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also previously served as Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California, and served as the Director of the Cardiac Anesthesia Division at Sharp Memorial Hospital from 2008-2020.
